White Peacock visits Thurmont Library!

This guy appeared at the front door of the library today and seemed to want to come inside, but ended up wandering out to the back property. The ASPCA was closed, as was the Catoctin Zoo, but I left messages.

The Bug Man visits Thurmont Library!

This was a really nice and educational program! Ryan (aka The Bug Man) talked about and showed us many live and specimen insects.  Afterwards, he let the audience come up and hold a live Hissing Cockroach, Tarantula, or Scorpion!  Very enjoyable for all!

The OTHER Harry Potter Party

We had a really nice turnout for our Harry Potter party up in Thurmont - perhaps a BIT too good for our tiny space. There actually were some diehard patrons who attempted to be productive back on the OPACs, but most of them ended up joining the party eventually. Who could resist all the cheering and giggling going on a few feet away?

Thurmont Regional has gone VERTICAL !

The first VERTICAL structures have suddenly appeared at the Thurmont Regional Library building site!

As you can see in the architect's drawing below, this will be the tower-like central feature of the library, which is actually a replica of the historical Catoctin Furnace.

Thurmont Regional Library

Our Thurmont Regional Library is coming right along. Work continues on the foundation at present, but I'm really looking forward to seeing VERTICAL structures start to go up!

Posting to your blog via email

Would you like to be able to add new posts to your blog simply by sending an email to it? A couple of people mentioned doing that today, so I thought I'd provide instructions in case anyone else would like to try it.

1. Go to your Blogger account.

- Go to www.Blogger.com
- Sign in with your user name and password

2. When you sign in, it'll take you to your Dashboard where you'll see your blog listed.

3. You should see some links for managing your Posts, Settings, and Layout. Click on the link to Settings.

4. Once in your Settings area, click on the Email button

5. Now go to the area labeled "Mail-to Blogger Address". This is where you'll create an email address for your blog.

- All you do is enter a word of your choice in the field. Keep it short and simple, but keep it private. Then you may want to write down the entire string so that you don't forget what it is.

6. Hit the SAVE SETTINGS button - and you're done.

Now, any time you want to dash off a quick message to your blog, simply open up any email account, and mail your message to the new address you just created. Give it a try!
